Orihuela Costa

Orihuela is a medium-sized town with just over 50,000 inhabitants, located inland on the southern Costa Blanca, about fifty kilometers southwest of Alicante with its airport and between Murcia and Elche.

Orihuela is best reached via the N340 from Alicante. Orihuela is also close to the large city of Torrevieja. The town of Orihuela should not be confused with what is known as the Orihuela Costa, which is the coastal strip in the area and actually about 19km from the town of Orihuela.

The Orihuela Costa stretches from Torrevieja to Mil Palmeras and consists of sandy beaches and rocky coves with many built-up tourist resorts full of apartment blocks. If you want to go on holiday to Orihuela, you can choose Murcia or Alicante as your flight destinations.

Murcia and Alicante are served by quite a few budget airlines, including Ryan Air and Easyjet. Orihuela is the main town in the Vega Baja area, an important agricultural zone where Citrus cultivation is the main activity.
