Formentera del Segura is surrounded by Rojales, Heredades, Urbanization Benimar and Benijofar in the Vega Baja Valley on the southern Costa Blanca.
Agriculture plays a major role in the village as it is located on the Segura River. The main products are oranges, lemons, vegetables and honey.
The nearest beaches are at Guardamar and Torrevieja, but there are many more in the area.
There are two golf courses nearby: La Finca golf and La Marquesa golf and country club. Also very close to Formentera del Segura are: Ciudad Quesada, La Rellana, Urbanization Montemar, Algorfa, Daya Vieja, Daya Nueva, Almoradi and Los Montesinos.
