FIND YOUR DREAM HOME IN
Guardamar

Known for its fine white sand beaches, Guardamar del Segura is located at the mouth of the River Segura, north of La Mata and Torrevieja on the southern Costa Blanca, Spain.

Guardamar historically originated as an area of fishermen and farmers and was once called a Phoenician colony. Alonis was the first settlement and later the Arabs called the place Guald-a-amar (River of the Sand), probably the basis for its name today.

In Spanish, "guardar" means "keeping" and "mar" means "sea", and this is another possible basis for the current name.
