Casares

Casares Costa is a small stretch of coast that is part of the municipality of Casares in the province of Malaga, Andalusia. The area is located on the beach and is an ideal destination for a family beach holiday, situated in a fairly relaxing area, yet enjoying local amenities, and within easy reach of Estepona, Sotogrande and Gibraltar.

Casares is split into two urban areas: Casares Costa, a beachfront strip of residential urbanizations, a commercial center, bars, restaurants and the old historic village of Casares, which is located a few kilometers in the mountains, at 430 meters altitude, above sea level.

Places to visit

Casares Costa is well placed to explore the western end of the Costa del Sol, from Marbella and Estepona, to Sotogrande, Gibraltar and the province of Cadiz.

The area offers numerous facilities and amenities for those who wish to participate in recreational activities such as water sports, jeep safaris, inland excursions, trekking, or simply sit and relax at a beach bar and enjoy Sardines al espeto (Sardines on the Spit) and a glass of vino or sangria.

Casares Costa is an excellent destination for golfing holidays, or for those looking to play a few rounds whilst away. In the immediate vicinity are a number of world-class golf courses, including La Duquesa Golf & Country Club, Estepona Golf, Valderrama (Sotogrande) and Alcaidesa Links Golf in San Roque.

Beaches

Golden sandy beaches stretch from Estepona, to Casares and on to Sotogrande and Gibraltar, and never get too crowded. You can walk to the beach from anywhere in Casares Costa and there are beautiful chiringuitos (beach restaurants) dotted along the way.

Casares Costa enjoys a subtropical Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. Cooling breezes from the sea make the summer heat manageable, temperatures average 32ºC in summer and 15-16º during the winter months.
